The Art of Perfumery Workshop in Nowra teaches you the trade secrets to blending your own beautiful perfume accords, and creating your very own fine fragrance perfumes. Creating perfume is an exciting and somewhat magical experience. There's no other workshop like this!
Learn the simple techniques that give your blends the Wow factor! We'll share with you the suppliers and sources of materials for you to continue your fragrant journey.
This is a 5 hour hands-on practical & theory workshop. From the moment you begin sniffing & smelling and awakening your nose, you’ll be on a journey through each of the perfume families becoming familiar with their unique scents. To support your knowledge of how to begin creating & designing your own perfume, we'll explore a Case Study of a World Famous Iconic Perfume.We'll then re-construct a version of it as a way of experiencing how a perfume comes together. You will then learn the Perfumer's most guarded skill - How to construct perfume accords. Accords are where the magic of a perfume really comes together. Basic accords & complex accords are blends of multiple odours/aromas that lose their individual scent as they merge and become a whole new beautiful scent of their own. Perhaps you have played around with blending fragrance before for your soaps, candles and other body products, but without the true know-how of accord building, blends can often lack the wow factor. Learn how to know when your blend is just right and in perfect harmony. You will also learn the art of diluting your perfume concentrate into an atomiser spray - all materials and equipment will be supplied for you. You will take home your very own perfume designed & created by you. Who knows, you could be the world’s next perfume sensation! When you leave this workshop, you’ll have the necessary basic to intermediate skills to continue your own journey developing your own fragrance lines for fun or profit. You’ll be surprised at how much profit is to made from perfume. Please note: this is not an essential oil based workshop. We'll also be using safe synthetics & professional industry-based nature-identical aromas. Remember: 'natural' doesn't always mean non-toxic, and 'synthetic' doesn't always mean toxic. The materials used are authorised safe & non-toxic by the World IFRA (International Fragrance Regulation Authority).
DURATION: 10am to 4 pm. Maximum of only 10 places so please book today! This has shown itself to be a very popular course with places filling fast. CANCELLATION POLICY: If you need to reschedule to another date please let us know as soon as this information is available. We do not provide a refund. If you cannot make it to the workshop, we are happy for you to send another person instead, or to transfer your booking to another time slot. We do not offer a refund if you are unable to attend. In the rare event that we need to cancel your class we will let you know as soon as this information comes to hand. We would look to reschedule the workshop date for you and would be most happy to reschedule to a date of your choosing.
